Privacy Policy

Qoobeau is a bookkeeping and tax product operated by SiliconBlast Ltd. (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to the Qoobeau website and the Qoobeau apps for macOS, iOS, and Android.

Information we collect

• Account information. Your name and email address, handled through our sign-in service. If you sign in with Apple, Google, or Microsoft, we receive only the basic profile the provider releases. We never receive your password for those accounts.
• Financial records you create or import. Transactions, receipts, invoices, bills, clients, and the categories and tax treatment applied to them.
• Bank and card data. If you connect an account, our provider Plaid returns balances and transaction history. Your banking credentials are entered with Plaid and are never visible to, or stored by, Qoobeau.
• Email content, only when you connect a mailbox. With your explicit consent we read messages in order to find receipts and invoices, and we store the extracted details and, where relevant, a copy of the receipt or a PDF of the message.
• Payment information. Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We receive the plan, status, and billing dates. We never receive or store full card numbers.
• Technical and usage data. Log data, device and browser type, and diagnostics used to keep the service working and secure.

How we use it

• To provide the product: organizing records, extracting receipts, preparing reports and tax summaries.
• To operate your account, process subscriptions, and provide support.
• To secure the service, prevent abuse, and meet legal and accounting obligations.
• To improve the product, using aggregated or de-identified information.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use the contents of your email or your financial records for advertising, and we do not use them to train generative AI models for third parties.

Google API Services — Limited Use

Qoobeau’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Gmail data is used solely to provide and improve the receipt and invoice features you have enabled. It is not transferred to others except as needed to provide those features, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition. It is not used for advertising, and no human reads it except with your explicit consent, for security purposes, to comply with applicable law, or where the data is aggregated and de-identified.

Who we share it with

We share data only with service providers who process it on our behalf:

• Plaid — bank and card connections.
• Stripe — subscription billing.
• Google / Microsoft — mailbox access you authorize.
• Supabase — database and file storage for your records and receipts.
• Vercel — application hosting and delivery.

We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the security of the service.

Where your data is stored

Qoobeau is operated from Canada. Your data may be processed and stored in Canada, the United States, or other countries where our service providers operate. We rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.

Retention

We keep your records for as long as your account is active, and afterwards only as long as needed for legal, tax, or accounting obligations. Bookkeeping records often carry multi-year statutory retention periods. You can delete individual records at any time in the app.

Your choices and rights

• Access, correct, or export your records from within the app.
• Disconnect a bank or mailbox connection at any time in Data Sources; we stop receiving new data immediately.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data, subject to the retention rules above.
• Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under PIPEDA, the GDPR, or similar laws, including the right to complain to a regulator.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is restricted to the accounts that need it, and each customer’s records are isolated. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to notify you if a breach affects it.

Children

Qoobeau is a business product and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We will update this page when this policy changes and revise the date above. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email.
